Probably not. Most such licenses, unlike Driver's Licenses, are restricted to the state they were issued in. However, if you already have a NY license, they may have a fast-track way of getting your NJ license without having to go through too many hurdles to get it. Good luck, and the link below is to the webpage for the New Jersey Board Of Nursing who would probably be the one to issue the NJ license for you...

Moving to New York, what's a nice area to live in ?
I currently live in London, UK and I would like to go and live and work in new York for a year or so and I was wondering if someone can tell me what area to go for, also can somebody tell me what it's like living there as in cost effectively. Like is Rent expensive - costs of food an travel ad just living costs in general. And also I work as a beautician so is the hair and beauty industry big in New York. Like will I be able to get a job :) Thank you, hope you can help :D

1 :Everything is expensive in NY and if you live in NYC is more expensive. Consider an area such as Astoria queens or Long Island City in Queens which is only about a bridge away from NYC two of best areas of Queens near Subways stations. Rent in Astoria will depend of what you are looking for, expect to pay about 1,600 for a one bed apartment. If you can't afford that you might not be able to afford the city. Transportation is also a major expense in NY. If you are looking to work as hair stylist then looking for employeement in the city is your best bet as long as you have working papers. Hope this info helps, good luck.
2 :Before you worry about where you are going to live, I think you should be concerned if you are allowed to work in the US. There is no way on earth you are going to get a work visa for the US as a beautician.
3 :It seems like you're overlooking immigration issues. You won't be able to work in the US without a work visa.
